Iranian ports 8-month loading, unloading up 6.6% yr/yr

TEHRAN – According to Iran’s Ministry of Roads & Urban Development, some 93.527 million tons (mt) of goods were loaded and unloaded at ports of Iran during the first eight months of current Iranian calendar year (March 20-November 20) registering a 6.6 percent rise compared to the same period of time in the past year.

During the mentioned period, 61.56 mt of non-oil commodities were transited through the country’s ports, of which 26.25 mt were unloaded and 35.31 mt were loaded, Mehr news agency reported on Saturday.

Meanwhile, in the said time 2.24 mt of oil products were imported to the country and the figure for exports of such commodities stood at 16.64 mt.

During the eight Iranian calendar month of Aban (October 22- November 20) the total amount of goods loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports was reported to be 10.57 mt from which 8.31 mt was loaded.
